Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 2024 AJL Conference: Standing Together! How wonderful it is to be together in San Diego, California. We have a record number of attendees this year, so gear up for the next three days of learning, networking, and feasting!
There is so much to do in the days ahead, but please make time to attend the Keynote Lecture featuring Dr. Tessy Schlosser, General Director of the Mexican Jewish Documentation and Research Center, and the Feinstein Lecture with Dr. Shira Klein, Associate Professor and Chair of History at Chapman University; learn from all our award-winning authors and illustrators; and join us in our hospitality suite to schmooze with all your colleagues. There is so much to choose from, so I encourage you to let the Sched app assist in setting (and remembering) your schedule and help you network with all your AJL friends.
Of course, none of this would be possible without an extraordinary team of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to put this all together. We want to thank all the members of the Conference Committee—Rachel Ariel, Lital Be’er, Lenore Bell, Jackie Benefraim, Emily Bergman, Sean Boyle, Paula Breger, Marcie Eskin, Jessica Fink, Elana Gensler, Eitan Kensky, Jerry Krautman, Yahm Levin, Rebecca Levitan, Aviva Rosenberg, Linda Roth, Jasmin Shinohara, Gail Shirazi, Lisa Silverman, and Aaron Taub—for their efforts in creating a meaningful conference for us all.
