A synagogue librarian and Jewish educator for over 25 years, Rachel Kamin is the Director of Lifelong Learning at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El in Highland Park, IL. The co-chair of the AJL Conference and the recipient of the 2021 Fanny Goldstein Merit Award, Rachel has served on the Sydney Taylor Book Award Committee, the National Jewish Book Awards, the AJL Fiction Award Committee, and the American Library Association’s Sophie Brody Book Award Committee. She also leads book clubs for four Chicago area synagogues and publishes articles and book reviews for School Library Journal, the Jewish Book Council, and AJL Reviews.
