JBI provides audio, large print and braille materials of Jewish interest (secular and liturgical) which are free to individuals, and low cost to institutions. Our materials include children's books, poetry, literature, history, non-fiction, Jewish calendars (braille, large print in English and Russian), and prayer books. We offer a monthly audio compilation of articles with a music segment and a cultural series. We also work with individuals who need something special transcribed into Braille or some other accessible format, such as a bat mitzvah reading, Torah portion or other life cycle material. In addition, we are creating accessible virtual programs in Jewish poetry, Judaism 101, book groups and lectures in which all participants receive accessible materials in advance of the program. We provide these materials to organizations at a small cost. We are also working with organizations to make their materials more accessible, including transcribing information brochures, and creating braille and large print guides for special programs and exhibits. Our ACS work is free because of a special grant to NYC based organizations for 2024 and 2025, and at a modest cost for organizations outside of NYC. Again, our services are free to individuals. I look forward to speaking wit you to see how we can collaborate!
